Brenda F – aged 68
My MPN was discovered through a bone marrow check, as my white cells had been increasing. I was shocked when I was first diagnosed, but I am fortunate to have the help of a great team at Guy’s hospital.
In terms of the challenges of living with an MPN, I am retired now, and I just carry on with life but it can make me feel very tired. As this is a very rare disorder, and I don’t look and feel ill very often, it has taken time, but my family and friends are beginning to understand that sometimes I just have to go back to bed.
