Welcome to MPN Time To Be Seen – GSK’s patient educational campaign for UK patients diagnosed with myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs). This campaign has been co-created with MPN Voice and is fully funded by GSK.

MPNs are a group of rare blood cancers, affecting approximately 8 in every 100,000 people in the UK.i Patients are often unaware of these types of blood cancers until they’re confronted with a diagnosis, making it difficult for patients to explain to friends, family and employers exactly what it means to live with an MPN.

MPN Time To Be Seen aims to empower MPN patients by helping them become more informed about their type of blood cancer and feel confident in having meaningful conversations with their support networks, enabling them to better navigate the day-to-day challenges of living with an MPN.

From real-life patient stories to useful guidance on improving conversations – here, you can find support to inspire and guide your own journey.

If you are living with MPNs, you can refer to the helpful downloadable patient guide by clicking on the download button below. This can be used to help facilitate important discussions with family, friends, employers and your wider support network, whilst also providing background information on MPNs.

Alisia, Mary and Paul all live with an MPN. Hear from them as they talk about their experiences of receiving a diagnosis and living with their condition, including what has helped them most and what advice they would give to other people receiving an MPN diagnosis.

Meet Alisia and hear her story
Meet Paul and hear his story
Meet Mary and hear her story

Having someone to talk to can make navigating life with an MPN easier. Open, informed conversations with friends, family, and even employers (if you feel comfortable) can help create a support system, that may help ease both the physical and emotional burdens, helping you to feel understood and less isolated in your journey.

If you don’t feel comfortable speaking with your own network about your MPN, the MPN Voice Buddy Programme can connect you with other patients who share similar diagnoses (the MPN Voice Buddy Programme is run independently of GSK and is not part of GSK’s MPN Time to Be Seen patient education campaign). These connections offer a space to share your experiences and gain support from those who truly understand the daily experience of living with an MPN.
