“Hello, my name is Helen Bass and I live in Hertford with my partner. Having played tennis and football at county level for many years, I then turned to running and crossfit training as a means of keeping fit. I like a challenge so I entered the ballot for the London Marathon, and after being unlucky for a few years I was delighted when I received a ‘Congratulations’ magazine and a place for 2016. My Mum, Celia, was diagnosed with myelofibrosis in 2010 and I have accompanied her to both conferences and forums organised by MPN Voice in London and Cambridge. I know my Mum has been greatly helped and supported by attending them. I work in London, so commuting will make training tough, but having seen at first hand the great work that MPN Voice does I decided I wanted to run for them as I am keen to give something back.”
